Mantosür Natural Thermal Insulation Plaster
Definition: Thanks to the porous, natural aggregates in its structure, it provides thermal, water, sound and fire insulation on the surface to which it is applied. Its breathability also prevents condensation.
Areas of Use: Applied to the exterior facade surfaces of all buildings, to columns and beams, and to surfaces such as base and finishing plaster, brick, pumice block and aerated concrete, providing excellent insulation.
Surface Preparation: Any roughness on the substrate that would hinder application should be removed, and residues such as blistered paint, lime or, if present, oil should be cleaned off. Painted surfaces that would adversely affect the application should be prepared using the scoring method.
Mixing Method: First pour water into the mortar tub, then add MANTOSÜR Natural Insulation plaster. The entire 16 kg bag is emptied into 15-16 lt of water. The mortar tub in which the mixture is prepared should be thoroughly cleaned before mixing, and during mixing the sides of the tub should be scraped down well with a trowel and mixed again to obtain a homogeneous product. A 500-600 rpm electric mixer should be used for a homogeneous mixture. The mixing time is approximately 4-5 minutes, and mixing should continue until the right consistency is reached. Allow the prepared mixture to stand for 2-3 minutes before application. If the product begins to set due to delays during the work, it should be remixed without adding water, brought back to a workable consistency and applied.
Application: For the MANTOSÜR application, battens that will determine the thickness are fixed at suitable intervals to form bays. The pre-prepared product is applied between the bays with a steel trowel or sprayed by machine, not exceeding 1 cm. The setting period should be 48 hours. Once the product has fully set, the 2nd coat is applied. The gaps between the bays are then filled with MANTOSÜR, levelled with a straightedge and made ready for the topcoat applications.
